Designer Anand Kabra is a free thinker, unconfined to any conventional style statement. His designs are born from a deeply personal space. His collections always reflect his own inner being while his philosophy is the belief of self expression. A product of international education blended perfectly with core Indian sensibility, this designer knows how to make an individual more glamorous without over powering them with the clothes.

Let’s get to know more about this designer who is termed as ‘the designer for the quintessential global woman’- How designing came into being… I wanted to be a doctor but things just fell into place one after the other for designing. I was sitting in the cafeteria in the London College of Fashion where I learned about form and design. There I discovered that there is no fixed form and definite design for making a collection. Splats of tomato sauce and coffee stains on a chequered table cloth proved the ultimate inspiration!

Your design philosophy… It’s the single thought you unearth after delving into sea of thoughts. It’s the thread I choose to weave into each creation. Latest buzz of one fashion week in Delhi… I have no clue what’s happening, my main concern was to concentrate on my work and how to improve it. Fashion trend getting repetitive… Fashion is always cyclic; you will see the same trend coming up after every 10-12 years. Staging of shows at fashion weeks needs to make business sense. It is not about established or new designers — the objective of showing a collection differs from designer to designer. Some people use it for visibility and some for sales — but whatever the case, it needs to translate into business returns, whether immediate or long-term.

The coming of fashion hub… so you see the plan coming out of paper… I do not know seriously, there is so much happening everywhere that this news has been lost somewhere… at least I can not comment on this. Has recession affected the fashion industry… There are slight changes in the buying pattern and it’s all boiled down to need-based buying as opposed to impulsive buying; everyone is looking to get ‘value for money’ and multiple buys have been reduced to single purchases. The consumer is still willing to spend money provided it is justified.

The designers that you admire… I like the style of French designers, crafts technique of Japan and Indians of course which is the mix of everything. Western silhouettes is as much as part of our Indian ness as is the Indian ethos in international style. Your future projects…I am busy promoting some of my stores then will come up with a new couture range for the next season. I might do Kolkata Fashion Week also.

Who says that reality cannot be submerged into fantasy? While most people think that what is a fantasy cannot be real or vice versa, in truth, there is a thin line that separates reality from fantasy. This is true in all matters, even in arts, and even more in fashion. Fashion is a fantasy made into reality. Fashion starts with a concept, materialized with further understanding of the arts. When the fashion design is done, the distinction does not end there. Even in the presentation of the styles and fashion, it is channel through real runway and the fashion made deep in the mind. This is exemplified best by one of the creations of the mind, the Bratz. Now feel the thrill and excitement as reality merges with fantasy when runway fashion hits the Bratz world.

For those you who have not been reached by the outstanding popularity of the Bratz, it should be known that the Bratz are one of the most successful teenagers recognized to have outstanding fashion sense that has been materialized in every part of their living. They are not simple creations of the mind, or made virtual, they are like real celebrities, patronized by their fans. So as the line between reality and has been blurred to make the distinction, these teenagers would not let that they got missed up with the latest fashion styles and wardrobe. Therefore fashion goes into the runway as the Bratz becomes avid expectators on what are the fashionable clothes for the season.

Fashion collection at the Bratz world encompasses all the fashion line at their current trends. At the fashion collection, you can find the newest styles and color combination for the season. For the spring, beiges, browns and softened mustards palette becomes the must haves while it is accentuated with odd highlights like that of apricot. Pastel reigns for the spring so be guided at the Bratz runway collection.

Spring fashion spells more on playing up with textures and details instead of the patterns. Moreover, the waist and the shoulders are accentuated with shapes as design for the outfit. In terms of the footwear, stilettos and pumps still lead the way but designers of the house have also brought Russian inspired collection that produced a sharp and yet classy effect with the refinement of a real woman. This fits very well out Bratz girls as they are very fond of exotic designs that spell sophistication in rarity.

Relax and bliss your eyes with the vast collection of the new styles of clothing for the season at the Bratz world. Have fun with Jade, Yasmin, Sasha and Cloe as you explore the new fashion craze at the chic refinement.

Trends for Autumn/Winter 08

There is really something for everyone this season. Whether your fashion stylist recommends you to wear brights, red or mauve or autumnal colours you will find it. Shapes will flapper most figures from fitted to blouson depending on what your proportions are. Use a Personal Shopper to seek out some of the key signature looks as many are classics and can be worn for a few seasons.

1.       Tartan. The Highland look was everywhere with tartan appearing as blouses, blouson jackets, fitted jackets and mini skirts. A great way to wear this look is to combine a fitted jacket or blouse with jeans and high boots. Tartan minis always look great with soft jumpers and opaque tights.

2.       Colours. Purple is the new black and is in all the shops it will suit cold blue/pink complexions best. Bright blue is also around and looks fab teamed with black. Brights are everywhere and work really well with bright warm complexions. Red is key for this season and works especially well in dresses, jumpers and jumper dresses. Great for Xmas! To identify what colours will suit you best a Personal Shopper or Style Consultant will help you spot the  colours that maximise your natural skin tones.

3.       Pants. Truly every style is available, ones to look for are cigarette style, high waisted ones that flare out are very flattering. Colours are black, grey.

4.       Military. Military coats and jackets are back. Black with silver, black with gold, red with black are key colours to look for. Pieces will have epaulettes , braiding, metallic buttons. This works very well with pants and high boots.

5.       Gothic and lace. Use the see through lace to soften the Gothic look or where it on its own. Lace is very feminine and **** and there are beautiful blouses and dresses on offer.

6.       Autumn colours. The Scottish look prevails again with soft autumnal shades in tweeds and plaid shirts. Combine soft colours with cashmere jumpers for a truly highland look. These colours suit muted warm skins best.

7.       Folk. Think smocks, embroidered tops, yoke necks in silk or cotton. Combine these with pendant jewellery and Gilet faux fur for a full folksy look. Flat boots a la Sienna Miller also work well.

8.       Black. The LBD is alive and well, a new cocoon shape is influencing the catwalk but there are plenty of tight figure hugging ones too. Combine with opaques and high heels or use lace underneath to create drama.

Halle Berry is considered to be a glamorous fashion icon in Hollywood. For most critics, she is always seen looking perfectly in style and always knows what works best for her. She always has a fabulous taste in clothing, and also has a knack of knowing what best hairdo and jewelry to use and wear to enhance her chosen outfit.

Halle Berry is famous for her pixie style short haircut. Halle has naturally wavy hair, so when she wears her haircut really short, she shows off a messy, **** and fun hair style. This is perfect for wavy hair, but can also be copied by straight hair when a flat iron is used. If you want to copy her hairdo, then you should: have your hair cut to a pixie with razor cut ends. Make sure you use a moisturizing shampoo with deep conditioner. Towel dry your hair to remove the excess moisture. Make sure you blowdry your hair in different sections from the bottom up. You can even use hair clips to divide off the hair layers as you blow dry. Use a cream pomade to have a textured look, and then finally apply a very light coat of hair spray.

Halle is also famous for her fantastic style in jewelry. She wears sophisticated gowns with understated jewelry, making sure that her glamorous gown is still the spotlight. During the Catwoman premiere, she wore gold rings, gold bangles and tiny blue and gold earrings that were a perfect match for her dress. During Gothika premiere, she chose to wear a low cut, figure hugging tangerine gown, making sure she did not wear big gaudy jewelry to highlight her outfit.

Women’s Summer Fashion

Floral prints, bright colours and light, trendy styles. These characteristics mark the onset of the summer season for Australia. For woman all over, full-fledged Spring and Summer are seasons to go all-out, fashion-wise. Throwing off thick winter coats and boots and donning bright colours and **** designs are reason enough for a woman to get excited about the hot, sizzling months that are to come.

Designer labels have got their full range of Spring-Summer collection out in stores, and it’s no wonder women all over the world are flocking to get the latest, usually limited, designs and styles.

Chanel has big floral designs on their latest beach dresses. While at first glance, the frock seems more spring than summer, the bright patterns and loud colours are perfect for a day out in the sun – anywhere!

Dior is moving in the animal kingdom. One of their latest trench coat designs consists of a zebra-print style. This is a nice change from the standard leopard print designs common to animal-like designs. Trench coats are a perfect add-on to the cooler spring and early summer evenings.

Escada is, as usual, classy and sleek. Its latest designs made of pure silk satin are perfect for cooler and slinkier formal wear for summer. The lightness of the material makes it more comfortable for the warmer months, and the demure, understated designs allow for louder, funkier accessories.

Gucci has some beautiful pastel pieces in store. This year, pastel backgrounds with louder overlaying prints have become popular, and Gucci’s range of casual and semi formal wear does not disappoint. Lighter colours are perfect for sunny days because, as cliché as it may seem, black does attract heat!

d’Italia is a designer fabric store in Melbourne, Australia. The store’s products are imported directly from Italy and its fabrics come from the same manufacturing houses that provide for designer labels like Prada, Gucci, Escada and Armani. d’Italia boasts a range of material and fabric that are often used for the creation of uniquely tailored evening wear, bridal wear and professional wear.

d’Italia is open six days a week, and  is located at 61 Glenferrie Road, Malvern, Victoria. Australian tailor and seamstress services should be booked in advance (especially for wedding couture).

Like many others things such as music, movies and sport; fashion has its firm place in popular culture. Fashion runs parallel with society on just about every level, sometimes mirroring it and sometimes paving the way. We consume what we see and we embrace what we like the look of.

Probably the closest thing to fashion is the arts, in particular, music. Musicians and artists are often regarded as trendsetters and the more accessible their attire, the more people can latch onto these trends and feel part of something big. Many artists over the years have capitalised on this by releasing their own clothing lines, offering not just their music but a whole wardrobe of clothing items and accessories to accompany it.

An intriguing aspect of designer fashion specifically, is that everything is relative and, where music and art somewhat govern the fashion style of its creatives, they wear what they choose to accompany their art because their clothing is a direct influence of their art. Whether the music is indie, goth or hip hop, a specific fashionable style will exist to accompany it. This means that the artists are more accessible as these clothing items can be bought for reasonable prices in shops or online.

The trick to borrowing a style from a celebrity is not to copy, but to experiment and accessorise. You don’t want to be branded a copycat wannabe.

The same strict guideline the original Rolex Air-King model follows pertains to the fake models as well. These features apply both in the most costly original model which was produced in 1931 and the more affordable fake version to follow. The brilliant watchmakers Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis founded the Swiss Rolex Company and have been making these wonderful machines since.

The original models are known to have the astronomical average price of $5000. Therefore the demand for a far more affordable watch soon followed. With an average price tag of $350 this fake model is well within the reach of the working class. This is a wonderful advantage to those in need of an accurate and durable timepiece.

The Average Features

One of the most outstanding basic features of the Rolex Air-King fake watch is the crown logo which is found on the originals. The dials and sub-dials also mirror those found in the original brand of watch. They also contain a one of a kind perpetual built in rotor system which maintains the accuracy of the watch. Never underestimate the completely accurate and enduring legacy of this fake watch.

The watch itself is protected by a glass cover made of a scratch resistant mineral crystal element. The face of the watch remains true to the original in that the stainless steel casings surrounding this watch is an accent in its own right. Never to be confused with a far less competent timepiece these watches remain in a league of their own.

The inner workings are protected by the stainless steel case attached to a beautifully crafted bracelet compiled of the same product.

These watches have proven time and again the famed Rolex Company and their legacy remain intact.

The color blue is perhaps the best choice for business women’s fashion. This is because this color is reflective of confidence, trust, wisdom, loyalty, softness and tranquility. It is such a versatile color in its intensities and hues. It goes very well with almost all of the different skin tones. If you want to make a grand entrance, then this color is for you. Most designers and retailers are shying away from the bold and intense colors and going towards livelier and brighter hues.

Cobalt Blue: This is a rich, deep jewel toned blue. This is perfect for day or night events. It can easily be combined with white, black and gray. It looks great on women who have a darker skin tone.

Teal Blue: This is a very unique and versatile color for the office. It is somewhat bold and can make any boring outfit to chic. It would look food with darker shades of blue for a monochromatic professional feel. This color works wonderful on women who have medium skin tones.

Turquoise Blue: This color is a very soft yet very vibrant color that can enhance and highlight any outfit. This universal hue can be combined with most colors for casual and formal events. This specific color is flattering for all skin tones, from light to fair skin tones. If you want a bolder or more intense look, try matching turquoise blue with brown or black. This color is very useful for spring and summer but can easily work great for the winter season.

Fashion shows of the present era are electrifying with spectacular, emotional and theatrical aspects.
